Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic medicine combines the latest advances in western medicine with traditional medical practices from around the world. Naturopathic medicine is built on a patient-centered approach that focuses on prevention, treatment, and good overall health. Naturopathy promotes the body’s natural ability to heal and helps patients achieve sustainable health and wellness.

Registered Massage Therapy

Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) is the hands-on manipulation of the body’s soft tissues. RMTs treat a wide range of conditions and injuries, and can help you alleviate anxiety, stress, headaches, and sleep disorders. RMT work includes everything from the relaxing Swedish massage to an intense deep tissue treatment that focuses on addressing inflammation, chronic pain, or severe injuries.

Registered Clinical Counselling

Counselling involves introspection and reflection, which may initially involve experiencing inner pain. Allowing yourself to truly feel and experience this dissonance can help unlock new ways of being, skills, self-awareness and improved life satisfaction. Many people find that it is helpful to have a safe, secure and private space to discuss their experiences, and inner world free from judgement.

Acupuncture

Our Acupuncturists are Registered Acupuncturist (R. Ac.) or Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R. TCMP) who are certified to perform acupuncture treatments and also prescribe Chinese herbs.

Osteopathic Manual Practitioner

Manual osteopathy could be simply be described as "holistic manual medicine". It is a system of health care that focuses on osteopathic diagnosis and treatment of the physical body’s structure in order to optimize physiological functioning. It is best known for the treatment of: neuro-musculo-skeletal disorders, back and neck pain, sciatica, sporting injuries and postural strain.

Dietitian

Dietitians work with you to provide tailored advice and information for you and your needs. They translate scientific research about food and nutrition into practical solutions for individuals, families and communities. Current practice guidelines for treating obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, and kidney disease recommend the clinical expertise of a registered dietitian.

Holistic Nutrition

Holistic nutritionists heal clients with 1:1 coaching using natural, evidence-based techniques. Instead of focusing on just one aspect of the person, or taking a one size fits all methodology, holistic nutrition evaluates the complete health history, emotional state, lifestyle habits and current diet habits of an individual to determine the root cause of their health issues.

Osteopathic treatment is a holistic therapy; practitioners see the body as a unit and don’t simply focus on the problematic area. Rather, they try to find the root cause of pain because they know that when one part of the body doesn’t work properly it will affect all parts of the body. Structure and function are interrelated, meaning that when the structure of the body is not aligned or correct, the body is not able to function properly. Osteopaths believe that body has the ability to heal itself when it is functioning properly.

Life can be challenging and often we go through experiences, both internal and external, that leave us struggling and feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and alone. Perhaps you have considered coming to therapy before but the thought of it feels daunting or even terrifying. As a therapist, I hope to create a place for you to feel welcomed, accepted, and understood so that together we can take on some of the challenges you might be wrestling with. My aim is for you to find hope, healing, and transformation through our work together so that you may rediscover joy and no longer have to face these challenges alone.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and hold a Master of Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. I have experience working with clients through a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief although I work primarily with people who are looking for healing from past relationships or within their current ones. This involves working with them on an individual level to resolve relational conflicts, understand reoccurring patterns, and heal enduring pain between family members, partners, coworkers, friends, and any other person who has come into their lives.

I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each individual but fundamentally, it is Emotion-Focused and Attachment-Based. This means that I believe healing comes from the experience of safe emotional connection within the therapeutic relationship, which leads to improved emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and a greater ability to cope. I also draw from Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to further support you in this process. If you feel that we would be a good fit or you would like to learn more about me and my approach, I invite you to contact me at crolston.rcc@gmail.com
